Shawna was really delusional to think that she could get over on Snow without any consequences. Cisco should have just told the truth from the beginning no matter what the outcome would of been and his conscience wouldn't have been bothering him. Chocolate didn't know her self worth. She was too busy placing herself on the backburner. Snow seems like she just couldn't get a break from all the people in her life. It was so many secrets and lies. California tried to right her wrongs from the situation her crazy father tried to put her in. She finally realized the truth. Ya-Yo really grew up and came to the conclusion that he had some trifling ways. It was sad to see what happened to BJ mother. At least BJ was able to get some closure.

I really enjoyed this book every character endure some heartache and pain. Every character learned from their mistakes, and trials and tribulations. And in the end they finally grew up learned to forgive and to be forgiven. And I loved the happy ending. Authoress Redd I can't wait to read your next book l

Now while I'm happy for the ending, I swear I didn't like Snow a** at all!!! Chocolate was my girl....the star of the series was Yayo I know but I low key was hoping for a different ending. But I'm glad a WHOLE lot of questions were answered. Not going to give anything away, so go by the book! Lol

This was a great read. I enjoyed reading this series and I also recommend this book as well. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book had one main drawback for this reader - the details!!! While I agreed details are necessary for the plot of the book but unfortunately the author goes on and on and on. I feel this book would rate five stars if the author would have condensed it in length. But enough said about the length, let's go over the book material itself. The story was interesting and disturbing at times, to read. To think this man and his wife could raise twelve children with such a twisted outlook on life, the beatings the children endured, not to even mention, the sexual abuse! It kept me reading on and on, but I confess I did 'skip read' a few pages now and then and was still able to understand the plot and circumstances taking place. The murders and sexual abuse was difficult to read, to think a father would 'marry' his own daughters and have children with them and also encourage them to murder some of the babies. Well like I said it is a difficult book and between us, there are a lot more true crime books that rate five stars, perhaps one should look into those first before tackling this book!

This was an unimaginable book of incest and control. It was an extremely huge family of decadent crime among themselves and marrying a gentle slow soul to cover an incestuous pregnancy and birth and then kill him without thought or mercy. The father, the main perpetrator, was a cruel and sick man and his wife was not much better. So sad that the victim did not get the justice I felt he deserved. The story itself was somewhat hard to follow due to the sheer number of the children in the family, their names and knick names made, and the different towns, places, and indecent act perpetrated by them all. But you still felt you had to continue to the end. I would recommend this book for those who try to understand the human mind and why a person chooses to do such things.

This is a subject everyone must be, in some way, acquainted with...we know it happens but it's certainly uncomfortable conversation, so most avoid the topic for obvious reasons. The depth of depravity in this household, through no fault of the children, is unthinkable and so far from normal it's even difficult to discuss in a book review. Very well written, horrible subject...one can't help but feel sorrow for its victims.

This is one of the most disturbing true crime books I have read. I found the beginning mildly confusing with all the different names. Later on, the mix of all the proper names and nicknames would occasionally lose me, along with the mix of geographical areas, fosters, extended family and law/social services personnel. What a tangle of stories for the authorities to try to weave their way through! To know this is on-going due to the vast physical, social and emotional trauma of the children and adults involved, is nothing short of a true-life horror story. I felt the author covered this story as well as anyone could. If you are looking for "fun" reading, this is not for you. I thought of quitting about 25% of the way in, but glad I stuck it out. From an educational standpoint, it was almost beyond what I was looking for, though (psychology). Be warned, there are some graphic black and white photos of crime scenes included.

I spent as much time reading the story of these monsters on the true crime sites on the internet as I did the book itself. Some complained a bit that this book was too detailed, but I disagree. The author covered this subject thoroughly throughout the book and it was needed to fully understand the evil of these folks. It scares me to think that this is just one family among many doing the same things. It's a wake up call for ordinary neighbors to pay attention and let someone know when things do not look good. For all of that the authorities were well aware that bad things were happening to the kids but were restrained by the laws of the State of Ohio and the child protective services as well as having to contend and failing to get the children to tell them what was happening.

Entertaining and informational. There were a great number of victims in this story, although only two or three that were actually innocent. And that number might be higher if other infant bodies are discovered.I have no problem believing the depraved crimes were actually committed by (and to) this family. Toward the end I felt mentally and emotionally fatigued. Almost to a point of numbness.I appreciate the staggering amount of research and assembly the author performed. But I don't feel this is a story I can stomach more than once.

This is the most disturbing true crime book I’ve read. What these two people did to their children is beyond sick and depraved. It’s hard to imagine it being true but true it is. If you’re going to read this, be prepared for one shock after another; they just keep coming. The author did his homework and relays the facts here for us to see for ourselves. Read on but be warned, the story is heart wrenching.

After viewing a program on the Sexton family and hearing Mr. Cauffiel discuss this story I decided to learn more. I was both sickened and riveted by this book. I was also deeply moved by the compassion in which Mr. Cauffiel writes, reminiscent of Ann Rule. You are focused on the victims which are so often lost in true crime stories...not so here. The people who worked this case are Angels, courage beyond my understanding. The children, grandchildren, son in law....anyone abused by BOTH the Sextons are now in my prayers every night. God Bless those poor victims...and Mr. Cauffiel for bring this story to life.

Following the development of the debate through the eyes of a handful of impassioned parents who formed the political action group, Safe Minds, Kirby, an experienced writer for the New York Times, crafts an engrossing David and Goliath story from this controversy, one in which the giant is an amalgamation of big government bureaucrats and corporate pharmaceutical lobbyists. Whether the association between thimerosal and autism is real remains to be seen, as Kirby points out. The evidence, presented here in excruciating detail but clouded by the parents' editorializing, is inconclusive but suggestive. David selflessly put his career on the line in writing this book and for that the autism community is forever indebted to him.

I bought this because i have a child with autism and i felt like i wanted more answers.I got some of them answered with this book!It is excellently written and David Kirby really delves in.IT also traces the stories of parents who are fighting for what they know happened to their children and all the corruption out there.A must read.I do have to say though i almost got angry reading it.The truth in this matter is shocking if you open your eyes! Job well don David Kirby keep up the good fight!!

Loved this book. It is the sequel to twisted desires. Detective Delsey returned to find yet another serial killer. The surprise ending leaves you wanting more. This is an upcoming author that will have you on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down. Cant wait for her next novel

Her writing is a perfect blend of forensic detail, emotional character involvement and description of tough police work that reveals just enough chapter by chapter to keep readers' eyes riveted to each page. You find yourself imagining what the characters are going through as the sadistic Tom Ireland inflicts the pain of his revenge on them and as the police work diligently to apprehend him. Another fantastic ending. Twisted Revenge is a MUST READ for murder/mystery devotees.

This was a great follow-up to Twisted Desires. Detective Delsey MacKay is a fantastic character. I love the set up and story line and the twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. I could not put it down and read it in 2 days. Love these books and hope there are more!!!

If you liked the first in the series then this one is going to blow your socks off. Delsey MacKay is back in the sequel to Twisted Desire. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Well thought out plot with a surprise ending.

For those hoping for a sturdy calendar, buy something else.

I love it! I was worried about being overwhelmed with too many new projects too fast but it turned out better than I thought.Rather than having an entirely new quilt pattern every day, it is broken down so that each day you are introduced to a single block or part of a whole quilt.The instructions are clear and the illustrations are beautiful

Sent as a gift. My friend had already had one of these in another year and she said the day-to-day patterns are wonderful so I call Quilt Block and Patter-a-Day 2016 a hit.

I found this book to be helpful in clarifying the difference between membership in the church versus membership in a Civic or Community organization. The church is a body, and the metaphor is important as all the members of a human body must function. Likewise, each member of the local church has a part to play in God's mission and purpose. I would recommend this book for anyone who is already a church member, or someone considering the roles and responsibilities of being a biblical member of Christ's Church.

One of the central issues of our day when it comes to the doctrine of the Church is interestingly enough, church membership. Many Christians today struggle with the idea of becoming or even being members of the Church. For some Christians just merely attending Church is okay with them and they don’t care to be bothered with becoming a member. Having grown up in the Church, I’ve seen both approaches to this issue but there is a better way. Church membership is vital because the New Testament epistles were written in response to Christians gathering together in local churches under the authority and care of pastors and elders. Church membership is important not because it takes into account how many people are actually part of the Church thus affecting how money will be allocated in terms of a budget, but because church membership represents responsibility ordained by God. It is in the context of the local Church where Christians are to one another each other. The over fifty one another passages in the New Testament make no sense apart from being a member of a local Church under qualified and godly biblical eldership.While the topic of church membership in recent years has thankfully risen to the fore, and we’ve discussed it extensively from a biblical-theological framework on Servants of Grace, a new book by Dr. Thom Rainer, President and CEO of Lifeway Christian Resources has come out. Dr. Rainer’s book does not get into all the biblical arguments for church membership. In fact the book isn’t concerned much with explaining church membership at all but it is with explaining the attitudes that Christians should exhibit towards church membership. This is an important point to note. Dr. Rainer believes firmly in church membership and has written about it on his blog. I have come to greatly appreciate Dr. Rainer’s stance and voice on matters of the church. His book I Am a Church Member is important for Christians to read to understand how to be a healthy church member.The book opens with a story of a man committed to staying at his local church and another who wants to leave. In chapter one Dr. Rainer explores what it looks like to be a functioning member while in chapter two he looks at how to bring unity to the local church. Chapter three explores preferences and desires not getting in the way of committing to the church. Chapter four examines the importance of praying for church leaders. Chapter five explains what it means to lead one’s family to be healthy church members. The book concludes with looking at what it means to treasure church membership.I Am A Church Member is a very good book that will challenge how Christian approach attending and being a part of the Church. Often in my experience Christians come to Church as consumers and forget that while yes; they need to be fed from the Word of God; as they are growing in Christ they also need to serve Christ. This book will help Christians understand what their role and responsibilities are within the Church with the intended goal being that a healthy and functioning members of local churches help impact their work places and communities for the Gospel. While what I just described is the heart of this book much more could be said about this excellent resource. This fabulous resource would be great for small groups to go through. Whether this resource is used in small group or just for reading at one’s leisure, Dr. Thom Rainer has given the Church a gift in I Am A Church Member, a book that I believe the Lord will use to help Christians understand the importance of the local Church and how they should approach their membership in it.

Perhaps the first point that should be made is that this book's main audience is the new, disconnected, or frustrated Christian. Rainer repeatedly shares about people who come into the church, get excited, become more involved but ultimately see the flaws in the church. What Rainer offers is that we have two choices. We can either accept the flaws of the men and women we serve with, or we can focus on these flaws and because of this drive ourselves out of the church. This is not to say that we as Christians don't all (regardless of or time or position in the church) need to here this message. We all experience frustration and burnout; however, the thrust of Rainer's purpose is how to get the disenfranchised Christian to understand what it really means to be a member of the church.This book would prove extraordinarily useful in a home study, membership class, or small group study. What makes it most pertinent to these types of studies are the structure, the review, and the pledge. The book is broken into six, manageable sections that could easily be shared and discussed in under an hour. At the end of these sections are review questions. These questions help not only with discussion of a group, but also with the reflection of an individual. Finally, each section ends with a pledge.
