I originally had purchased another study guide (Mometrix SHRM-CP) but it felt like it was summarizing rather than explaining in detail the SHRMBocK competencies. I am glad I found this guide, it breaks down the content per sections, and quite easy to read and understand. Plus, at the end of each section it provides a few questions for you to practice. I would suggest purchasing plus the practice exam guide.

I just passed my SHRM-CP exam and these test questions helped tremendously. The key is to the exam is to take as many tests as possible. Of course you have to be familiar with the material, but getting familiar with how they pose the questions is 1/2 the battle.

This book is nice. It goes through all the different areas that the LSAT will cover and helps you come up with a game plan for understanding the sections and what to do once you're in the test.Just to let you know, your GPA and LSAT score are the MOST important factors in getting in to a top law school. It's like a job application, your credentials get you in the door and you personality gets you the job. Thing is, in this case, your credentials are your GPA and your LSAT and your personality is the application packet. You won't even get considered if you don't have a good GPA and a good LSAT score.I just want to let you know this before you buy the book. I thought the application packet was more important than it was and was sorely disappointed to know that although I had good grades and a good packet (in my opinion), my LSAT was low and therefore I wouldn't get in to a top law school. If I had had waited, spent more time with this book and others and redid the exam, I feel I would have done much better on the test. That being said, I love my law school and wouldn't trade it for the world. So, maybe that was a blessing in disguise.Oh, and as a word of advice from a third year law student, the legal market for jobs is terrible and if you are looking at going to law school, my suggestion is to really consider it as three years from now you could be in massive debt and pulling your hair out looking for a job.

Jeff has written a book for LSAT test takers that exceeds any other book out there for sale. I have reviewed several before purchasing this title and determined the style with which Jeff wrote it, his strategy for success taking the LSAT, drills & exercises, and sense of humor are going to get you a better score than other books for sale or expensive prep classes.If serious about the LSAT, get this book. The test taker will lose anxiety, focus on success, and have an excellent strategy for not conquering but excelling on their LSAT.

I got this book today in the mail and I can already tell you that this book is a flat-out comprehensive masterpiece. I have at least a dozen of the most popular LSAT books. I decided to get this book because I saw some videos on YouTube recommending it--namely a video that praised this book's approach on the Reading Comprehension section. This book actually teaches you. If you want to memorize a book like a robot only to get tripped up when your list of memorized rules doesn't exactly apply, then go buy the two most revered books on Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning. However, if you want to learn the MINDSET, not just the rules, consider getting this book. Everyone is different, but for me this book was a home run. I don't need to absorb another person's take (logic) on the LSAT, what I do need, however, is develop my way of thinking NOT replace it! Whereas other books might give you hardcore rules, e.g. "1+2=3", this book explains to you the logic behind what they teach you. For example, they might say "well if you take one and two more, then you put them together you naturally are going to get three, as we know 1+1+1 is three, 1+1 is 2, and therefore 1+2 is three. This could be a horrible analogy, but I must stress how clear and understandable this book is. When I read other books it felt like they were just regurgitating rules that I had to memorize. I can't do it! I need to understand what I read. The "Mentor Exercises" are BRILLIANT. These are exercises where they literally walk you through a question and then give you a similar question to do on your own. I've only briefly skimmed this book, but I'm telling you I can't wait to read it in its entirety. Put the Powerscore Bibles in your bookshelf until you read this book. I thought I was crazy for not being infatuated by the Bibles, now I know I'm not.UPDATE: The logic games section of this book has some really misguiding errors in it...therefore it loses a star.

I don't normally rate items because I never have time. I ordered 3 LSAT books from a different author prior to ordering this one. I was confused and didn't really understand the material. This is one of the best LSAT books I ordered. I am currently studying out of this book and the LSAT trainer. Perfect combination for me since I don't have any prior knowledge of LAW. I recommend this book. When you received the book after ordering it, sit in a quiet place and read the material. It's good stuff inside. This book explains everything and break it down to it's simplest form. Good Luck with your future endeavors!

Forget the other study guides on the market, this one and the released actual LSATs from LSAC are all you need. That's all I needed to score a 163.The games section is the most helpful, and better than the other guides I looked at before buying. I completed 18 of the 24 questions, with 3 wrong answers. Great advice on getting this highly timed section done, and done correctly.All you need to know is in the logical reasoning section. Basic logic. The one thing I disagree with, is the book not recommending reading the question stems before the stimulus. But they say doing so may work for you, they just don't recommend it. I found it helpful and time saving to read the stem (and ONLY the stem, not the answer choices!) before the stimulus, because I found myself rereading the stimulus to identify the answer from the choices. If it works for you, read the stem first to know what to look for in the stimulus. Saves time. I finished both logic reasoning sections with 10 minutes to spare.The reading comprehension section is solid, but it didn't help me much because I'm very strong in this area. Other test takers I talked to said they benefited greatly from the strategies presented.This book is no nonsense. It tells you what you need to know to answer the questions, and doesn't try to sell you on any gimmicks. There aren't any magic tricks to get you a 180 on the LSAT. This book will give you the strategies and knowledge to work a good test. Best of luck!

The author did a very succinct job in thoroughly examining the historical evidence regarding Pope Pius XII's alleged culpability and sets the record straight. As someone who lost many relatives in the Holocaust, it is gratifying to see the clear vindication of a man of great humanity and courage who stood in a very lonely place among the leaders of the world in facing that nightmare with unswerving resolve.I particularly appreciate the way the author examined the real facts in their historical context which reflects on the ongoing drama of anti-Semitism in the Middle East today! The verdict? Pope Pius XII is the greatest Gentile benefactor of the Jewish people in history and it's high time his critics acknowledged that! In retrospect, it must be said that a consistent trait emerges among the more unsparing critics of this book expressed in the reviews published here that reflects on their own anti-Catholicism and/or their political biases that are completely irrelevant to the facts marshaled by the author in examining the historical role of the Grand Mufti in laying the foundation in the ongoing campaign against the existence of the Jewish state of Israel that continues to this day.It is the task of a historian to examine the historical facts in context, as Rabbi Dalin does, and to use history as a tool in examining the present where the past is clearly prologue! Again, a job well done and LONG OVERDUE!

I thought the book was useful, especially its references to Jewish sources. I, as does a previous reviewer, think the political elements, were distracting though the research on Hitler's relationship to Muslim anti-semitism and support for Holocaust was interesting. This would be an important area for further research. It is clear that Pius XII saved many Jews directly.. The real issue seems to be the Pope's commitment to a diplomatic response to the attacks on the Church and the Jews. The Vatican is a state but has no military leverage,Though it secretly plotted to depose Hitler it took little public action. Pius never made a specific condemnation of the Holocaust. But only that.The Vatican remained neutral hoping for a negotiated peace with the Pope acting as a mediator. Dalin, as far as he goes, makes strong defense of Pius and makes a good critique of Cornwell's book Hitler's Pope which is a poorly researched journalistic smear. Should the Pope have made an effort to mobilize the German Church and try to organize partisan resistance and supported an overthrow of Hitler overtly.? This would have made him and the German Church open to severe retaliation, assassination of Pius and alienation of many Catholics who still supported the war effort. Pius would have made himself and his followers martyrs. But isn't this what Jesus did? Readers of literature defending the Pope never really address this and neither does Dalin.

A good book that dispels many of the myths that have been repeatedly reported that Pius XII did nothing during the war to protect Jews and Christians alike. He neither aided Hitler, nor supported his plans, but intact ran the largest spy ring behind enemy lines.

Rabbi Dalin's book titled THE MYTH OF HITLER'S POPE is a well documented book which gives Pope Pius XII the credit which he deserves. Rabbi Dalin cites an array of sources and contemporay accounts (contemporary to Pope Pius XII's lifetime) to clearly demonstrate that Pope Pius XII was an implaccable enemy of Hitler and the German regime during the 1930s and early to mid-1940s.Rabbi Dalin has an interesting chapter regarding why the truth of Pope Pius XII's rare courage and compassion are necessary. The truth matters because the truth undermines anti-Catholic hysteria and falsehood. The truth matters because a very courageous man should recognized for his character and compassion. The truth matters because readers need to know the difference between truth and mass media hysteria and nonsense. For example, THE NEW YORK TIMES(NYT) editors and journalists who wrote for that newspaper were effusive in their praise of Pope Pius XII. These same journalists refuted Soviet smears of Pope Pius XII. Yet modern NYT writers justify lies, smears, bias, etc. against both Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church. One wonders of these modern propagandists ever did any research and read the NYT articles published in during Pope Pius XII's lifetime. Readers should also refer to Albert Einstein's praise of the Catholic Church which can be found in the December 23, 1940 edition of TIME (Pages 38-41). Of course the current NYT editors and other conventional writers will deny this even though the sources are clear. They are too cowardly to do any honest research or writing.Pope Pius XII was a well know opponent of religious bigotry and ant-Semitisim before he ever became Pope. Rabbi Dalin uses good source material to cite Pope Pius XII remarks regarding race and religious hatred written in the 1920s and early 1930s before Pope Pius XII became Pope. For example, Pope Pius XI was praised for a papal statement condemining the French anti-Semitic remarks published in a journal titled ACTION FRANCAISE. When a dignatary praised Pope Pius XI for these remarks opposing anti-Semitisim, Pope Pius XI gave credit to Eugenio Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII, for actually writing the document.Rabbi Dalin also praises the historical Catholic Church and earlier popes for their defense of Jewish people. One example that may surprise readers is Pope Alexander VI who was a hero to many of Renasssaince European Jews. Rabbi Dalin contrasts this Pope with many of the Protestant reformers who were openly anti-Jewish and tried to incite political violence against Jews. For example, one should carefully read Martin Luther's vicious attacks against Jews which were often quoted by Hitler & co.Rabbi Dalin cites numerous sources of Pope Pius XII's consistence efforts in protecting European Jews. While Rabbi Dalin cannot possible cite all the sources and documents, he cites enough to make his case. Those who want to know more can research the sources in the notes and books that Rabbi Dalin cites.Rabbi Dalin spent too much time re the Grand Mufti's encouragment of Hitler's anti-Semitism. Hitler certainly did not need such encouragement. Anti-Semtisim was not just a German phenomonen. There was anti-Jewish animosity througout Europe during the 1920s and 1930s well beyond German borders.Rabbi Dalin wrote this book in the midst of what some call cultural wars. The smears of Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church may be part of such cultural wars. This should not detract from the book. Rabbi Dalin wrote a very good book regardless. In other words, Rabbi Dalin's sources are historically sound which does not deflect from honesty and accurates regardless of one's political views.Rabbi Dalin's book is well written and well documented. This book is useful to the "casual reader" as well as the serious student. Rabbi Dalin has done a credible service to Pope Pius XII as well as historical truth.

In the midst of such turmoil, Adam's comics come as a welcome relief.The comics address both timely issues of the day (such as abortion, gay marriage, terrorism, and others) and more timeless theological topics of discussion (like salvation, God's sovereignty, prayer, hell, and the problem of evil). They come in many forms and motifs, from the more on-the-nose "talking heads" format popular in the webcomic realm to some extremely creative setups. Some of the punchlines are powerful and gut-wrenching, and there are a couple shocking twists in the way he reveals them. He uses satire, parody, irony, and clever juxtaposition skillfully to make his usually excellent point.The value is good as far as comics go: 200+ pages of grayscale renditions of some of Adam's best comics. They tend to be the longer form or wordier ones from his site, so they will take a while for you to chew on and work your way through. (Though the comparison isn't quite apples to apples, I often pay twice the price for a similarly sized colored superhero TPB that I devour in a couple hours).If you haven't checked out Adam's webcomic before, this is a good way to familiarize yourself with some of his content at a more leisurely pace than lightning-speed web browsing tends to lend itself to. When you see the gospel for what it truly is, you cannot be help but be humbled by it. That is what is transforming. You are not transformed by popularity, success, even good deeds but by what the Gospel is intended for. To bring you to the cross.The thing is..The comics of Adam reflects the pain and the beauty of the cross. The condition of our hearts and the holiness of God. It offers something better and thru these comics, it opens our eyes to the truth of the gospel. That it is not centered on us but on what Christ did. Come and be part of the conversation of the Gospel.

I really appreciated the current topics handled in a thought provoking way. This is an excellent source for visual learners and those who are dealing with challenging questions. Because it is read and not said, there is time to process and think through issues on more than just a surface response to the topic. I've given this to our youth pastor who thinks it will be helpful.

Adam 4D is truly a man of God, speaking the truth of the Bible through comics. The comics are often funny but always very truthful and poignant, even if they might offend some people. This book is a must-read for anyone who considers themselves a Christ follower.

I have yet to find a better synthesis of hilarity and profundity. I laugh, I think, I appreciate, and I learn. I would suggest you check out Adam's website and, if you find joy in his work, purchase this book. (All the material aspects of which I can think (e.g., text size, durability, weight) are what they should be.)

Poignant, concise, and thoroughly entertaining. Adam does a phenomenal job of satirizing Christianese, the liberal media, hypocritical Christians, and everything in between. Comics are a medium that no one else is using to speak Gospel truth, but Adam wields his pen masterfully, artfully, and honestly.

This is the best Banksy book out there, not just because it has the best photographs of his work but because this book was created by banks and not some one else.I bought this and "Banksy you are an acceptable level of threat." I GREATLY prefer this book over "acceptable level of threat." This is not just full of amazing photographs of his work but it has actual commentary by banksy himself! Its full of his witty and clever sayings that will have you rolling on the floor laughing.But most importantly it contains his philosphy behind art and why he does what he does. Its in his own words and not write by some outside source who "researched" his work.If you love street art and banksy more so, then you NEED TO BUY THIS BOOK!!! Out of the dozens of Banksy books, this is by far the best. After all it was created by Banksy himself.

I am a born & bred New Yorker and I am also an artist. Banksy is no vandal, he is a true artistic genius. I used to write graffiti when I was younger and those that write just "tags" are vandals. Banksy does beautiful work, transforms environments, and is very clever. He is now one of my favorite artists.To Mayor Bloomberg: You're an idiot...you want the NYPD to catch Banksy because you said he is a vandal? Get your priorities straight Bloomy....we have reckless motorcycle gangs terrorizing motorists, etc. Banksy is no threat.To my Ghetto neighbors...i.e. Bed-Sty, East NY, etc...some of you are on YouTube being shown harrassing people for taking pictures of Banksy's works on "your" walls and intimidating them for money....first off they are not "your" walls, secondly go get a job if you need money that bad instead of hanging on the street corner all day.Lastly, to my fellow artists bad mouthing Banksy as a cheat off Le Rat whatever his name is in France....everyone pioneers something and then there are the people that "carry the torch"....Banksy is that guy.Buy this book. It's awesome.

This was purchased as a present for my freshman college son, who had seen it in the bookstore during visits. I should say that he does already have familiarity with Banksy's work. He loves it. It's well made, very sturdy, nice binding (hardcover bought). Had terrific pictures and graphics. Lot's of captioning, some longer writing about pieces, periods, etc. Very dense, perfect for browsing thru bits at a time. And it's a real conversation piece in the dorm, helping to strike up conversations with other people who are interested in Banksy, art, street culture, you name it. Plus, my son isn't normally too interested in visual art, but here he is appreciating the medium in a very subversive way - that sneaky Banksy!

Banksy is probably the best known stencil artist and in my estimation, he's definitely the best. With a distinctly global view and wicked sense of humor he slams the status-quo all over the world and at the same time creates memorable art that is critical of the worst in human nature. But also celebrates the best of us too.I have enjoyed watching street art and creative graffiti grow over the last 30 years (I'm a 60 year old grandma). Banksy has raised the bar so much higher. His earlier work was strongly English, with commentary on uniquely British foibles, but every year it has expanded to lambast ridiculousness everywhere. I especially loved his rat series, which was brilliant.This book has a smidgen of his history with just enough details to give us a view into Banksy's perspective and goals, but not enough to identify him. And that's fine with me; I love the mystery of who he might be. He gets to remain "everyman" or any man and speak truth to power on our behalf. This book is a wonderful introduction to his work if you haven't seen "Exit Through the Gift Shop" or heard of him. And, if you're a big fan, it's a delight!

If anyone supposes they have a sense of humor and a little bit of irreverence, or is it reverence, for the human condition.... this book will sure to make that anyone a banksy fan. As you flip through the pages you might find yourself claiming each work as your favorite. I highly recommend watching his movie too. It feels to be a continuation of the story he tells... right when you were wishing you had a banksy piece on your wall he throws you a curve ball.. hilarious. It's not a race!

In this book is an excerpt from a letter in which a young man asks Banksy to stop stenciling his childhood neighborhood because it makes the area seem hip and Yuppies are moving in, raising housing prices such that this young man cannot buy a house here. Banksy's book is filled with inspiring, hilarious, and very intelligent statements accompanied by witty captions, but his work is the kind that speaks 1000 words by themselves. A true public artist, Bansky also offers his tips on how to take a town by storm in only one night. The art in this book is a response often times to public advertising; it is essentially a way for the public to respond to the ads that we are forced to see. A great and intriguing book.

Whether it be a chuckle at the Mona Lisa holding an RPG, awe at the modified oil paintings placed in various museums, or appreciation of the clever detail of his urban rats, this book has images that will make you laugh, think, and wonder "Is Banksy 'just' a graffiti artist or, more likely, a super-talented commentariat that uses spray paint as his primary medium?" I think anybody who appreciates art in general could appreciate this book and it's contents.

This is my go-to book for my friends who hide their eccentricities. You know the type of people, the ones who have excitement in them but decorate their homes in pretty cookie cuttered decor. This book brings some life to the otherwise not so interesting and cliche coffee table.
