If you hate reading 5-10 pages of a case brief in order to get one rule of law, this book is for you! I'm the type of person who just needs the facts, so when I'm reading a case brief all I'm thinking is, "get to the point!" or "how many words are you going to use in order to tell me that it had to be a material breach?" If that is you, or if you are having problems understanding the point of the case brief and how it fits into the big picture, trust me this book is for you. I've tried several others and they don't compare. BTW these books are set up to mirror (keyed) your case books so make sure you get the right one.

I got this because it was keyed to Dukeminier, but found it was also keyed to other textbooks as well. It is arranged purely in an outline format and I found it helpful for review. Most of the cases my class studied were covered by this outline. I will say, however, that I probably would have gone with the Gilbert's if I had to do it again- I had to borrow my classmates version when I came to a few of the stickier areas of the law. The Gilberts was more of a summary of the restatement, which just seemed to work better for my particular course.I think the utility of this outline will vary professor by professor. As mine noted: always be careful with commercial outlines. They can be wrong or inadequate. I didn't find anything that was outright incorrect, but there were areas where I felt treatment was lacking in specificity.I found that the Flashcards, made by the same company, were actually more useful. You can stare at an outline all you want, but you need to learn how to apply these rules in new situations. Your coursework and self-prepared outline should get you to the point where you know the law but mastering it requires practice and repetition.In short, this is a fine study aid, but there are better ones out there. Don't just buy it because everyone else has a supplement - think about what your professor emphasizes in class and find a supplement that will complement it well. All in all, I think flash cards are the most effective study aid.

This helped a lot in my Contracts class for understanding some of the tougher concepts. It comes with questions after each section that are useful for review. I would use this as a supplement to making your own outline. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten this book before I even started the class.

I am a fourth year law student, so I have used many different books, summaries, and outlines at this point. The Emanuel Criminal Procedure book is comparable to other outlines in this series, as well as others. It is not only all inclusive as far as teaching you everything you need to know about this class, but also has the summary pages that go far in helping you to formulate an accurate outline for the class. This is a good law class summary and I intend to buy more.

You can't count on this as your main source. That, unfortunately, will have to be your casebook. But it is solid. It has all the same common law principles, rules, elements, etc. that are in your casebook. Therefore, you can use it in conjunction with your casebook, but likely will not be detailed enough, unless your professor is not the typical cruel and devious property professor.So get it. It is safe and likely at least as useful as another commercial outline on the same subject.

The format and organization scheme used in the Crunchtime series is second to none. First off, you get flowcharts for the areas of law most tested on the bar exam and law school exams. For example, you get detailed analysis of Contract Formation issues, Parol Evidence issues, and Mistake issues, just to name a few.Second they have exam tips for each of those areas. These typically include the areas that are easy to test, or generally tested, because of the inherent issues in those topics.Other than that, you get multiple choice and short answer practice, as well as essay practice. Great start-to-finish book for studying / cramming for Contracts.

Thank God I do not need this anymore but If you are a first year law student and you need a professional outline for cramming, then this is a good one.It will mostly mirror your first year K class and be complete. Be careful to make your own outline - and use this to supplement your own and study for your finals. I would not recommend you try to pass Contracts class and do well with just this.They do an exceptional job of condensing for a commercial K outline though. I do not think you will find a better series for what it is.

Very cheaply made. Recycled paper, very flimsy. Ordered twice and both items came all bent up. Just got a refund and ordered the Kindle version. Gave up on getting a quality hard copy. Also, because law school requires a lot of highlighting, I wondered how the thin, light brown recycled pages would react to heavy highlighting.

A very interesting look at the early days of radio. This was during the time period when radio came of age. In the beginning, there were no regulations, and stations were often on the air for an hour a day, once or twice a week. Their signals would interfere with each other, and the "broadcasts" would be the person who built the station talking into a microphone and maybe playing a record. Within 15 years, most families owned radios, stations had set schedules with comedy shows, live theater, religion, news and sports. There were the odd shows - doctors advertising surgeries to implant goat glands to improve male health while doing farm broadcasts. This book looks at these early days of radio, when a new fad became a multi-million dollar industry.

I noticed that one reviewer complained that the book was not about the entertainment in early radio shows but about the history of the technology. Absolutely right. This book is about how radio developed from a hobby for enthusiasts (my father was a teen-aged radioholic) into the dominant world-wide communications medium of it’s time - in fact the history of radio is strikingly similar to that of the computer, which went from a hobbyist medium to the Internet.From the “Goat Gland” medical quack, to Aimee Semple McPherson, Rudy Vallee, the beginnings of sports broadcasting and on to the development of network radio, the stories are fascinating. I gave the book 4 stars only because the writing style is less than compelling. It’s not bad by any means, but it tends to resemble a very well written college thesis, and like a thesis it sometimes includes much more results of research than is needed.But the stories are compelling.

The past couple of years I've been reading nearly every "old time radio history" book I could find. They all tell about the same story with the same characters, and I thought I was about saturated."Hello, Everybody" is different. It has the IN DEPTH stories of major radio personalities (mostly performers, but also the "radio quack doctors" and evangelists) in an informal, narrative style. The other books I had read only scratched the surface of these interesting people.I recommend "Hello, Everybody" as a follow-up to the other old time radio books, or even as an introduction to this fascinating subject.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. However, I'm not fully in agreement over the definition of "Golden Age." Mr. Rudel ended the story in the 1930's, but radio continued to grow, evolve and adjust to audience needs and desires. For most of the country, radio did not begin to fade in its importance until the mid-50s and the advent and availability of television Still, a good read.

In the beginning radio was a new fangle contraption called a Marconi Wireless. Then the Titanic's famous S.O.S. made it a mandatory accessory abord steamships. Meanwhile, voice came into play and right at the edge of the twenties came short burst programs that featured weather reports and whatever came in handy. Within a few years, a primitive sort of radio programming overcame the airwave and as early as 1926 came an early version of Amos 'n Andy. The golden era of the radio was truly the theater of the imagination with Orson Wells bringning it to a summit with the Invasion of Mars. Truly enjoyable listen...I mean reading.

What industry was supported by sex rejuvenation promotions, free speech promoters, businesses scrambling for their customers' attention, followers who wanted to be on the cutting edge of technology, and performers (whether involved in show business or sports) looking for new outlets? If you said the internet, you'd be close, but wrong. This engaging book looks at the American radio industry before its Golden Age (when a simple voice reading a bedtime story or the newspaper or a musical number plinked out on a piano over the airwaves was considered miraculous) and the personalities involved in its ascension: Dr. Brinkley, the goat-gland man; soon-to-be-president Herbert Hoover; collegiate crooner Rudy Vallee, the first radio singing superstar; religious rivals Robert Schuler, Aimee Semple McPherson, and Father Coughlin; rising politician Franklin D. Roosevelt; boxing sportscasters; and other colorful characters. It struck me so many times how early radio resembled the rise of the internet, and I'm certain it was the author's intention. If you're an OTR fan who'd like to know what came before the rise of THE SHADOW, THE KRAFT MUSIC HALL, THE JOHNSON WAX SHOW WITH FIBBER MCGEE AND MOLLY, and other Golden Age hits, and other radio classics, this book may be just your cup of Postum.

For anyone who loves American history this is a truly wonderful read! After the world was finally connected by the telegraph's dots and dashes, finally the human voice and man made sounds flew mysterially over the airwaves into people's homes and shops and truly changed lives; first came the snake-oil salesmen broadcasters and opportunistic hobbiest and entrepeneurs; then came crop and weather reports, music and entertainment into remote homes; then came Baseball's World Series suspense and major boxing matches and other sporting events; then politics was profoundly changed forever and Presidents won or lost elections due to their radio presence. All of the media coverage we take for granted today was added bit by bit, advance upon advance during the 1920's and late 1930's. This is a fascinating book for people who enjoy finding out how we got to where we are today in our daily media-filled lives! Highly recommended, but most valuable to older readers. We're sending this to family and friends.

This is a good summary of the beginning of radio broadcast programing in this country. I suspect those who find it unsatisfactory are looking for a book that covers all of the major programs of the four main radio networks, but such a book would have to be three or four times longer and that was not Rudel's aim. Readers looking for that material should try John Dunning's pretty exhaustive volume.

The title of the book suggests that the authors start out with "Step 1" and then help the readers work their way through the book, building on the material each step of the way. This is NOT the case. The authors instead created separate practice files for each chapter. It may be because going through an entire project, one step at a time, would result in a book twice as thick. However, it would have been a lot more helpful if that were the case. The major drawback of having a separate file for each chapter is that it leaves learning gaps. In Chapter 3, for example, we set up resources. Then, in Chapter 4, we're supposed to assign resources to tasks, but the resources and tasks have changed from one chapter to the next for no logical reason. Why couldn't Chapter 4 just pick up where Chapter 3 left off? This is not a great book, nor is it a bad book. I think the best way to learn from this book is to download a trial version of Project 2010, and walk through the material multiple times. Do it until you can work through each and every one of the book's objectives, without even opening the book.

This was a fantastic book for learning M$ Project. I got a new job where I was doing admin work for a PM and I had never used the software before. I blew through it in about 16 hours (2 days) and haven't looked back since. After I was done, I was showing all the PM's how to effectively use Project including some tips that they never knew. It's a lot easier than trying to fake your way through Project.I just want to note that I would not consider this as a reference. If you just want to learn a couple tips and tricks in Project, this book may not be for you. This book is for the person coming into Project fresh and who needs a crash course. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will teach you neat tricks in less time if you are already familiar with how to use Project.

Amazing - a book from Microsoft that is written for the non-techie, easy to follow and use. If you have project design experience and need to use this as a tool in your project management, highly recommended. Just start at the beginning and follow it through. Takes time, but MS Project is not intuitive in a lot of places, and there are sequential steps in the text presentation that make life a whole lot easier. Makes MSP usable from the start, and you go only as far as you need to go. The more complex is added as you go along, so you can get up and running and familiarized, stop anywhere along the path. Side tabs make resource searching simpler once you have a little background in how the book is arranged. Good guide through the learning journey, excellent long term reference for MSP Standard. Did not use with Pro.

I have this book and two others ("Microsoft Project 2010: The Missing Manual" and "Microsoft Project 2010 Inside Out") but to learn the software this is undoubtedly the best one. This book presents the theory very well explained and than, immediately presents an exercise where we can use what we have just learned. The other two are "too much" theory and in the end are boring and unproductive. In a nutshell, using this book it is possible to learn the software naturally because it is really a step by step book with a real project to be developed. I think the two others are more dedicated for people that has a very good knowledge about MS Project and needs some material to make consults.

I picked up this book to fill in the blanks for MS Project 2010. It not only filled in the blanks, but created some new gaps and then filled those too! Learned things about MS Project in general I did not know.It may have a little too much - "How do you create and run a project" for more advanced users, but good overall book with lots of tips that you need many, many months of experience to find on your own.I highly recommend it for beginners and give it a 4 star for due to the additional project management information included that most advanced folks will find superfluous.

This textbook provides a seamless introduction to MS Project. The text and practice files dovetail perfectly. This has been the most painless introduction to a computer program I have ever experienced. This book was written to be friendly to beginning users, but offers a lot to more advanced PC users like myself without wasting my time. If I had to recommend a book for learning MS Project 2010, this would be the one.

I had purchased this reference manual for learning the differences in the 'significantly-upgraded' MSProject 2010 and prior versions, with which I was familiar, hoping that there would be more technical discussion about new or changed capabilities. The book does have sufficient info for new-to-mid experienced users (I count myself in that group), but lacks more extensive detail for advanced users. It seemed to me that moving from mid-to-advanced would require another publication.

My technical level in MS Project is self-taught and just good enough to set up the platform to create tasks in Project that flow to SharePoint and sync to Outlook. This book helped me plan a lot of the how to's as well as set up everything allowing column headers to sync, etc. I look forward to use this book when I begin using Project for resource utilization. This was a good purchase and I am going to keep ahold of this book for a long time as a point of reference.
