2/3 the way through this book. Read the author's "Consultation" many years ago. Love hearing stories/little biographies of many, many souls who gave their all to Baha'u'llah's Faith, as we approach the 200th anniversary of the Birth of Baha'u'llah. Very much worth a read--particularly because there are stories here that I've never heard before in any other text. In it one can glean the growth of the Faith in Alaska.
What a wonderful book, focusing on what is truly important in this world: ordinary people fulfilling their existence out of the public eye and exhibiting unheralded heroic traits along the way. It really touches the heart as it gives glimpses into the transformations of such a mishmash of souls who come from such different backgrounds, but have at least one significant thing in common: boy, will they do anything for "...the good of the world and the happiness of nations..." No payment, no recognition needed. I dare say, these are the truly important people living out unassuming lives among us on our planet. Don't worry, John Kolstoe's writing is much smoother and warming than mine in this review.Crazy Lovers of Bahá'u'lláh: Inspirational Stories of Little Giants
John Kolstoe's story-telling skills are wonderful. He makes his friends and acquaintances come alive in this recollection of his service with others in the Baha'i Cause. Highly recommend this book.
Of interest mainly to Baha'is, this collection of vignettes celebrates many of the early Baha'is of Alaska and St. Lucia! Heartfelt and loving, John Kolstoe celebrates many of the people he has worked with over his years of building the Baha'i community around the world. Highly recommended.
This book will be much appreciated by longtime Baha'is as it hearkens back nostalgically to the time of plentiful travel teachers with their tales of everyday miracles. The book's vignettes describing all that is possible are sure to inspire younger believers as well.I had to deduct a star for the editing issues. It didn't look like it was the final draft.
Anything by John Kolstoe is a super read.
Love this book. It is a source of inspiration and motivation.
